Road 1: Intermediate Bicycling Skills (2-part class):

Designed for adults who are intermediate or advanced cyclists, this is the League of American Bicyclists' flagship nine-hour course. Recommended for adults and children above age fourteen. This class involves two sessions:

Part 1: Evening classroom session (off-bike) covers bike-safety principles, bicycling laws, guidelines for riding in traffic, and more.

Part 2: Fast-paced, full-day weekend session (on-bike) gives cyclists the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. The class will teach you to cycle more efficiently and covers bicycle safety checks, fixing a flat and basic maintenance, emergency maneuvers, left turns, crash avoidance techniques, riding in the cold, wet, and dark, and more. This course prepares cyclists for a full understanding of vehicular cycling. The evening classroom session is required for the on-bike training.

    League Cycling Instructor Training:

This intensive, weekend-long training, sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists (LAB), is for experienced cyclists who would like to become League Cycling Instructors (LCIs). LCIs can teach Bicycling Skills classes of their own. If you're interested in becoming an LCI, please visit the LAB website for more information and email MassBike so we can notify you about future trainings.
